Adult Residential Drug and Alchol Treatment

Adult Residential Treatment Program

A Journey of Healing...
Our Adult Residential Treatment Program is located just east of downtown Salt Lake City and provides full-service residential care to adult men and women ages 18 and up. Our comprehensive program is dual-diagnosis enhanced to ensure that we treat the entire person - not just the problem of addiction. Through our holistic approach to drug rehab, our clients are able to graduate as healthy, contributing, self-sufficient, responsible citizens of the community at large.

The best part is that we offer aftercare to our clients for free for life. We truly want to give every client a chance to succeed and we do not give up on hope - ever.

Integrity, Responsibility, Accountability... A Recipe for Health
Our treatment approach is unique in that we employ a modified Therapeutic Community model that has been customized to the most important needs of our clients and is based on the most up-to-date best practices in the field. The Therapeutic Community harnesses the best of both worlds: professional, clinical expertise and the ability of clients to relate to each other and support those who are going through the same journey they are. Many of our staff have graduated from Odyssey House themselves and can truly support the clients as they know exactly what their needs are and have succeeded themselves. Clients hold each other to healthy standards and hold each other accountable as friends should. They teach and encourage each other to live responsibly, with integrity, and accountable for their own actions.

A Day in the Life...
Our Adult Residential drug treatment program has developed a plethora of individualized groups and services that enhance the Therapeutic Community. Each day, clients are given the support of several group therapy sessions and activities that help them learn how to live the rest of their lives sober. Clients not only engage in therapy; they learn how to have fun without drugs and alcohol and how to be employed successfully. We make sure that the clients have a healthy balance of work and play as long as they are living their lives in a healthy manner. Below are some of the services that we offer and all of them are included in the program:

  • Case Management
  • Individual Therapy
  • Motivational Groups
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Gender Groups
  • Family Therapy
  • Couples Counseling
  • Employment Services (including vocational training)
  • Education Services
  • Life Skills Training
  • Service-Supported Transitional Housing (Voyage Program)

Length of Stay...
We like to say that a client's length of stay at Odyssey House will not be one week longer or one week shorter than it needs to be. Each client's length of stay will differ as programs are individualized for each client's needs. We utilize ASAM Placement Criteria, an industry renowned best-practice, to match the correct level of care for each client and we review each client's progress continuously. Because we have a complete continuum of care ranging from residential treatment to substance abuse education, we can move a client along seamlessly in their levels of care. If certain time constraints exist, please feel free to talk to our admissions department to see if we can come up with a viable solution.

We encourage client's to take advantage of our supported transitional living after completing our residential program so that they may be ensured a safe, sober living environment at an affordable rate.

Hope Renewed...
Our clients graduate whole, healthy people with the world's opportunities at their fingertips. After all, a life free of addiction has limitless potential. Our alumni group provides support for clients for the rest of their lives for free and we are impressed and touched by the generous gestures of many of our graduates. Whether it be a graduate donating to Odyssey House or stopping by to cook everyone a meal, it is a common occurrence to see hope renewed in our clients by seeing them "give back." Sobriety is about teaching and helping others achieve it, and our alumni definitely does more than their share of touching lives.
