Odyssey House, a private non-profit organization, has been providing substance abuse education, prevention, and treatment services for adults, adolescents, and parents with dependent children in the Salt Lake City area for close to 40 years.
Odyssey House employs a unique model of treatment, the Therapeutic Community, a model that not only addresses addiction and the co-occurring conditions that pre-existed or that aggravated the substance abuse including mental illness, depression, lack of job skills, lack of an education, and the basic lack of social skills required to thrive within a community. are targeted to low and middle-income families who could not otherwise afford treatment services.

The ultimate goal of the Odyssey House program is to help clients become productive, self-sufficient members of the community, and to provide intervention in the cycle of multi generational addiction, child abuse, and neglect. The Odyssey House philosophy is that by working together we can make a positive difference in these peoples’ lives, and in our community.
