Our Parents with Children drug treatment program offers single moms and single dads substance use and mental health treatment through group, individual, and family therapy from our highly specialized staff. Parents learn, perhaps for the first time, how to be good moms and dads, as bonding grows almost daily with their kids. They leave our treatment as a healthy, reunified family.

While parents engage in services during the day, kids attend our Children’s Services daycare. Little ones receive child care from specially licensed staff immediately (even if they are newborns) to help rebuild attachment and heal childhood trauma. Kids do lots of activities to experience a healthy childhood with a healthy parent. School-age children attend a local elementary and receive daycare services in the afternoon.

Odyssey’s Parents with Children Program is a 31 time Best of State winner and one of the most successful treatment programs in the State. We are also the most affordable with over 48 funding sources available, meaning you most likely will not have to pay to access care.

Aftercare and Housing

Parents’ and children can continue in outpatient therapy after they leave residential care and is the only facility in Utah to offer family sober housing units.

Parenting Skills

Parents will engage in our special education on parenting, vocational prep, life skills, and physical fitness.

Mental Health

Along with an individual therapist, your team includes psychiatric providers who help with assessments and medications.

Father’s with Children

Our program is the only residential treatment center in Utah that serves dads and their kids.

Medical Care

Odyssey operates the Martindale Clinic which provides integrated medical services during and after your treatment stay.

Trauma

Most of the adults and children in this program have trauma, and our specially trained staff address these unique and sensitive issues.

How long does it take to complete the program?

The minimum stay required is 30 days. Treatment is individualized, and you will move through at your own pace. Please know that treatment does tend to last longer (average stay between 3-6 months for most individuals) at this program because you are moving through care with your child(ren). You help determine your treatment stay based on your progress completing therapeutic goals and assignments.

Child age limits?

We work with pregnant women and parents who have kids aged from newborn to 11 years old. Parents can enter care with all of their children who fit this age range based upon availability.

How often can family members visit us?

Currently, due to COVID-19, we are not allowing family visitors at this time. We are providing frequent phone and video calls to family members to make sure that loved ones stay connected during the pandemic while maintaining client safety.

Do you have a bed available?

We currently do not have a waitlist for an adult to enter care. Please contact our Admissions Team at 801-322-3222 to find out more about how you and your family can start treatment.

Can I bring my 12/13-year-old to the program?

Unfortunately no, we are not able to take kids into the program who are older than 11 due to licensing regulations.

Can my spouse/partner come into treatment with me?

Yes and no. Odyssey operates a separate Adult Residential Program that either you or your partner can enter. We will provide regular family, couples, and individual counseling as a family unit. We also allow for couples to step down into sober housing together. It is important to note that you will not be living at the same facility, but you will both engage in treatment services.
