Odyssey House began in 1971 with a single residential treatment program in Salt Lake City. Since then, we've grown into Utah’s largest and most comprehensive addiction treatment provider. Today, we operate multiple residential and outpatient facilities throughout Salt Lake County, along with mental health programs, transitional housing, and assertive community treatment services.
Every decision at Odyssey House is guided by what’s best for those we serve. Our evidence-based programs treat the whole person — addressing mental, physical, emotional, and social needs — to help individuals overcome the many barriers to recovery. This holistic approach leads to lasting, life-changing outcomes.
At Odyssey House, we’re proud to report that in FY2024, 66% of individuals in our Substance Use Treatment programs successfully completed treatment. While our ultimate goal is 100%, this number reflects the dedication of our staff and the resilience of the individuals we serve — and it significantly exceeds both state and county averages!
For context, the statewide completion rate in Utah was 43% in FY2024, and Salt Lake County saw a rate of 44% during the same period (source: Utah Deparment of Health & Human Services).
Figures are drawn from rigorous data reporting requirements that ensure consistency across all publicly funded treatment providers in Utah. Every program is required to submit detailed admission and discharge information through a secure platform known as SAMHIS (Substance Abuse Mental Health Information System). This data is collected monthly and reviewed by the Division of Substance Use and Mental Health (DSUMH) to support accurate statewide reporting and fulfill federal reporting requirements.
