click here to nominateNichole is the PERFECT person to be the first face people see when they come into the Administration Building here at Odyssey House! She goes above and beyond and greets EVERYONE who enters our building with a warm, genuine smile and friendly, positive attitude, even on the days I know she is struggling with things outside of work or not feeling well. She is always ready to lend Khymm (or anyone for that matter!) a helping hand. Whenever she is out, this place just isn't the same! Her compassion and friendliness is genuine and never, ever fake; that is what I love most about her. She is hilarious and always keeps the mood here upbeat and positive.
Something that meant a lot to me recently, was when I was out for a couple weeks due to some ongoing, chronic health issues I had been struggling with. When I was finally feeling well enough to come back to the office, I was greeted by Nichole in the best way possible; she welcomed me back and actually noticed I had been gone. She showed genuine concern and asked how I was feeling, while listening and lending a compassionate ear. And I have noticed she is like this with everyone here! She notices and genuinely cares about all of her coworkers here at Admin. and staff all over Odyssey House! No matter how busy she is, she takes the time to really talk to everyone and in my opinion, that builds a feeling of belonging and family here at Odyssey House. As long as OH keeps hiring people like Nichole who genuinely care about people and genuinely promote what being in this industry is all about, we will always be the safe place people can come to, to learn how to love themselves and build a healthy, strong, sober life worth living. In life and especially in recovery, feeling that someone genuinely cares can go a long way.
Neal does NOT get recognized enough for all that he does! He works so hard to make sure that our people are funded and able to get their treatment. He is kind and patient when working with him to figure everyone's Medicaid out. He is punctual and informative. And He just doesn't get the recognition he deserves! EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR FOR NEAL!!!!
Gabriel has consistently demonstrated a proactive and systems-oriented approach to improving both client retention and overall program stability. He recognizes that retention is not just about keeping clients in the program, but about increasing engagement, trust, and a sense of accountability. One of the most impactful ways he has done this is by building strong rapport with clients early in their stay, meeting them where they are, following through on commitments, and maintaining a calm, solution-focused presence during moments of crisis. This has directly reduced impulsive discharges and helped clients remain long enough to stabilize and engage in treatment.
Operationally, Gabriel has strengthened retention by improving structure and consistency on shift. He reinforces clear expectations while still treating clients with dignity and respect, which creates a balanced environment of accountability and support. He is also highly responsive during critical incidents by de-escalating emotionally charged situations and ensuring proper follow-up. His attention to detail and adherence to protocol reduce chaos and increase client confidence in the program.
Liz has been such an amazing addition to the MB team, and the clients absolutely love her groups and interactions with her. She uses her gifts like creativity/art and super-human organizational skills to make updated assignments and other useful tools for staff and clients. She practices kindness with staff and clients and is always trying to learn new things. We’re so grateful for her!
I feel Suzi Bryant's dedication to Millcreek is truly inspiring to all. She's consistently going above and beyond in her role here at Millcreek. Although this is only her second job and she works part‑time, she regularly volunteers to fill open med passes and steps in whenever there needs extra coverage. From the moment she arrives she is on her feet—engaged, attentive, and ready to respond to whatever. She compassionate when dealing with the clients. And I'm grateful she's apart of my team.
Elizabeth is always picking up slack and even picking up what isn't slack yet. She anticipates problems and solves them before they can even be a big thing. She is so incredibly kind and FUNNY, she makes every work day so much brighter. She doesn't feel a need to be in charge but does so well when in that situation. She is the current longest running MA in the clinic and it really shows with her knowledge. She deserves all the kudos!!!
Kween is one of the most amazing people I have ever met. She is the one person who is always there for the guys at men's mental health. She goes above and beyond to help all of them feel hard and welcomed. She is always willing to step in when the guys are feeling overwhelmed in the kitchen. She always makes sure that the guys know they can go to her if the need anything or if they just need someone to talk to. Every time she comes to work all of the guys are happy to see her so that shows what a big impact she has on the guys here. She also makes sure the staff is taken care of by always making everyone feel like they are part of the family. She is always willing to pick of shifts when we are short staffed or if someone needs their shift covered. She always helps with any questions or training that the staff may need. She is also the first one to hold staff and the clients accountable for not following the rules and also the first one to let the staff and clients know when they do a good job or level up. She is definitely a huge part of why Men's is such a great place to work or be at.
I was in a real serious bind with a client who was in a crisis and you volunteering to help out made the whole situation a lot easier to problem solve. You have been an amazing supervisor and you've really stepped up when I have needed your guidance
1. Jaime is an essential part of our programs. She runs CS well, making sure each child is taken care of, keeping everything clean, making sure all her staff are trained, making sure all documentation gets done, and following up with her staff. I also love the way she interacts with the kiddos. It's very clear she cares for them and does what is best for their growth and development. She pays attention to everything that happens at CS and is quite reliable. When some of the children have challenges in their behaviors, she is always working with clinical staff to put into place interventions that will best help them. She's truly a rockstar in our staff!
2. She has very strong boundaries and I admire that while acting as SOC she is very supportive, caring and thoughtful she has displayed consistent kindness, compassion and integrity treating others with respect and professionalism her actions have positive affects on her coworkers and she has demonstrated that strength comes from within, and happiness is a daily choice
